Young Writers Students at the Wiseman

Going to the Wiseman Museum

As students of  International Academy Leap and also as a  English Learners, it was our first time going to the Wiseman Museum. We had a lot of fun working with other students from other schools who have English as a first language.
Going to the museum first felt like something not very interesting, but when we got there and started to explored all the great works of Bob Dylan, it went very well. At first, we were afraid because we felt that our English wasn’t as good as the American kids. But we got to work with them and we noticed  that there was no big difference. Five students were elected from Leap to go and experience the fun of being  a young writer. These students were Mardia Nanga, Mahad Mohamed, Martha Kinbo, Houa Hang and Mean Huy.
We were invited to go three times and share our experience of writing.  We wrote about a famous singer called Bob Dylan which will be published  in a book with writing from all the other students from the other school.  A copy of this book will be sent to our schools. Mean Huy and Houa Hang went only two times, and Mardia Nanga, Mahad Mohamed and Martha

went all the three days.
Mardia Nanga said.  “she learned that poetry can be turn into music, and it was very important to her because she loves to write poetry.”
Mahad Mohamed said, ”He enjoyed learning about Dylan’s life and what he had accomplished.”
Mean Huy said. “ He enjoyed Bob Dylan’s stories and music. Also, he hopes that someone else can do the same thing.”
Martha Kindo said, “She learned that working in groups and discussing about what they have  written was something she took in mind and will never forget about it.” Houa Hang said, “he enjoyed working with the other students from other high schools, and he had fun with all the activities."
And we also want to give a special thanks to our teachers who decided to take us. Mrs. Carol Quest, Mrs. Jonell Pacyga and Mr. Sam Divita, we just want your to know how we  appreciate your being  with us and helping us through.
