Week #3: Volume

For this Word of the Week, throughout the school we displayed posters asking “What is the volume of?” various objects. Calvin also posted a list of musical terms that designate “volume” in music.

We also emailed to all teachers a sample poster with the formulas for the volume of a box and a cylinder; many teachers displayed this poster in their rooms.

The contest of the week incorporated the previous Words of the Week as seen in this photo which asks “Can you GUESS the VOLUME of the RECYCLE bin?”

Many students and teachers entered their guesses, and the top 6 were given prizes.
