|  | | | | Peace Pole Dedication | | On May 8th, 2008, International Academy/LEAP became a Peace Site. All students and staff gathered in the gym with their personal pledges of peace and then we processed outdoors. As we passed the American Flag everyone deposited their peace pledge into a basket. We then gathered on the corner of the lawn to dedicate our school as a Peace Site. Our peace pole was planted, pledges were read and we all celebrated with popsicles.
The peace pledges are now attached to our giant peace symbol and on display in the Media Center. A student designed T-shirt has spread across our student body too!
I would like to thank our Student Service Council and all students and staff for participating in this event. Our peace project was truly a community builder.
May Peace Prevail on Earth!
