This is my second year at International Academy-LEAP and I am excited to be here!  I teach

7-8^th Grade English (ELL), Level 2 Writing, and Level 2 Grammar .

I have taught ELL in St. Paul for eleven years.  I have also worked as a Cued Speech interpreter and consultant for deaf students.

This summer I traveled to Wat Tham Krabok in Thailand on a Fund for Teachers grant and taught classes in the Hmong refugee camp.  It is so exciting to see some of the students here that I met in Thailand! 

I also spent time at Leavenworth, Washington at a writing retreat.  I love writing and working with the ELL Leadership Team of the National Writing Project as well as the MN Writing Project.  I enjoy writing articles about my students and teaching.  In my free time I read, go to plays, garden, camp and travel.
