Week #1: Guess

The LEAP word of the week initiative was “modeled” for the whole staff with the first word GUESS. Classroom teachers were encouraged to emphasize the word during the week. Two suggestions were presented as classroom possibilities: 1) Include the word in the classroom word wall or 2) Use the PowerPoint presentation created by Sandy Muellner and accessible through the shared folder.
For the All School Activity, Carol Quest bought a large pumpkin and placed it in the school’s main entrance for 4 days. During these four days students and staff could submit a written guess of the weight of the pumpkin. Eighty-nine guesses were submitted.
On Friday the three best guesses were announced and those who submitted one of the top three received a prize—one of which was the pumpkin.
